Best oil? 0w20 or 5w30

Twice he said if you drive highway miles the hybrid battery will be at 2 bars.
That is NOT correct. Unless the battery is bad, then it could be.

Maybe he MEANT 2 bars from full? I doubt it.
I guess he's never driven a hybrid very long.

 

(Off topic galore, but I agree, TCCN does not like hybrids (they are to slow..) so his references to Prius is often likely hearsay. If you drive like a race driver then the battery will indeed be low all the time, but if you drive normally like I do, it’s almost always at 4 bars or above.)

@Mendel Leisk I do understand your intervals indeed, because you likely owned the vehicle since birth?

I bought mine all above 200.000km, some in very bad shape, so I feel the engines love my OCD (OBD?) to change oils often. Something I learned along with being a home mechanic just some years ago, after being so fed up with my other non-Toyota cars (including Lexus) breaking down or having idiot issues…

Now the oils are clear and even smells normal for my oldest 450.000 km atleast Prius bought last fall. That 15 year owner knew nothing about cars. Changed oil four times in one year to make it clear after running 500km between changes…
