A 2010 Prius (garaged 90K miles) rear lower fender is separating on both sides. Assume this car has been hit from behind or suffered similar trauma.

    Question:
    1) Is this a frequent problem for older Priuses?
    2) Is the failure because of the method of attachment?

Any lessons learned / remedy procedures (especially youTube videos) are appreciated. Thank you

    1) Yes, even before they were old
    2) Yes

The ends of the bumper cover (aka, fairing) are barely attached, at best, and it doesn't take much of a bump to disrupt it. I tied mine up with a cord between the bottom of the cover and cleat that the top of the cover is supposed to hook on. It's starting to sag again, but not as badly as before I fixed it.

There have been several threads on this topic.
