Is there a reverse wire I can tap for aftermarket radio/backup camera?

    Hey,

    I'm upgrading my brother's 2014 Prius C 1, it doesn't have the screen or a backup camera. So I'm installing a whole new headunit and aftermarket backup camera for Xmas.

    My question is does anyone know if/where there's a reverse wire I can tap near the head unit for the backup camera? Or am I going to have to splice into the reverse lights?

    Couldn't say if there's one in a 2014, but there was one in our 2018.

    I used the interactive wiring diagram included in the repair manual to figure it out when I installed ours. You can get these with a short subscription.

    The main wiring harness in those cars are all the same.
    Fun Fact: you can add cruise control by installing the cruise control stalk and notching out the plastic cover. Install a fuse and possibly a relay and your done. All plug-n-play, except notching out the plastic. If you buy one from a junk-yard, you can get the plastic piece, fuses and relay - all at once.

    No there is no wire from factory unless the car had a camera before, C1 trim comes without camera so no wire is in the harness.
    Mine is a 2013 C 2 I installed the touch screen radio from a 2014 and ran the camera wire from the back to the front .
