I'm having the oddest problem. I have a Ryobi garage door opener. So essentially what is happening is my garage door opener doesn't open or close using the remotes (both the included ones and the homelink connected ones in the cars) while the car is actively charging. The car can be plugged in and not charging and the door will open just fine. The wired opener works just fine to open and close it, but the remotes don't work. So there must be some sort of interference while charging

My car is charging and we take the wifes car. We back out go to close the garage with the homelink and it doesn't work. Hop out to unplug my car and get back in and close the garage just fine. It is a reproduceable problem.

I have been using a charging schedule that charges from about midnight to 7:30 or around the time I leave for work so it hadn't been aware of any issue. I had only started to suspect there was a problem when my father in law came to visit. He goes on early morning walks so to reduce noise in the morning we had him use the garage to come and go and gave him one of the remotes to do so. Morning after morning he would complain about the remote we gave him not working. I would check to make sure the remote and opener were functioning as they should. and of course when I check to verify that they were it would be after my charging schedule had ended so of course I would say they're working just fine and show him. He thought he was going crazy! Only come tom find out that the remotes don't work while the car is actively charging.

:eek:o_O While your car is charging; it's throwing out an EM bubble close enough to your garage door antenna; so it doesn't work. Best option is to extend the antenna wire to the opposite side of the garage, nearest the entrance.
You can also try changing the code or frequency of that unit to get out of the spectrum that's being drowned out. Check out the Ryobi garage door opener web site for tips.

    Good Luck......
