Tried all the fixes and nothing thus far. I did call Toyota about a goodwill warranty. They took my info down and created a case for me. They said someone will be contacting me in 3-5 days about it. That was on Friday, so figure with the Holiday this week, I'll wait until next Tuesday that if I don't hear anything, I'll give them a buzz back and follow up.

They're NOT fixes if you don't know what's broken. Your simply groping around in the dark - IMHO.

Hopefully, you wrote down the case number - all that is being tracked; so persistence is something they (Toyota corporate) looks at. If you don't have your information together; there's a higher likelihood that they'll just 'blow you off'.
I helped a gal, last year with a defective CAT that failed in Las Vegas, Nv. The car was registered and insured in Ca.. Issue was covered under CARB warranty; but she was past the Federal warranty - which Nevada ascribes to. Toyota corporate said NO to her twice. I told her to open a case number up with Ca. consumer protection bureau then try again with Toyota corporate. They finally said yes and cut her a full refund check for fixing the car at a Vegas dealership.

    YMMV

lurking. Same problem only I get no lights at all when I plug in the charger. When I try to manually charge pushing the EV/HV button it will go into charging mode, but then stops.
    No trouble codes.
Lots of other issues. No heat coming from the vents even on High. The heat pump works fine initially , but no ICE heat. My wife is hating this car.

So update in case anyone is wondering.
I decided to look up if there was a "prius specialist" anywhere in town not to go to the dealer. I found a place that specializes in Hybrids and EVs. They assured me the cost would be nowhere near the dealer cost. I spent pretty much all day there but for $870 total, they found and fixed the problem with a used part they were able to get. New part from Toyota would have been about $1800 just for the part. Turned out the Charger Assembly went bad. Part number G9090-47030. They swapped it out and all is working fine.
I tried to get some reimbursement back from Toyota via a goodwill warranty claim but since the work wasn't done by a dealership they won't cover any of it. I understand, however, I told them how it's unfair to ask a consumer to sign up for an undisclosed amount of money to diagnose a car, so they aren't covering anything.

In any rate, it's fixed now and I plan on keeping the car for the long haul after spending this and having to do brakes, tires and some other maintenance stuff the last week. I have 95k miles on it and hoping to get another 95 out of it!

sorry you went through that. It would've been covered as part of your 8 year 100K mile EV warranty; but hindsight is 20:20.:(

I don't think it would have to be honest. When I initially fought with the dealer I was asking them what parts could be under warranty. They showed me a few parts and those didn't have the same 8yr/100k warranty. Some had 5yr 50k warranty. Which is bullshit that certain parts within the system aren't the same. Since the battery itself is still totally fine, I think they wouldn't have covered this particular part as it technically doesn't impact the battery from functioning.

I wasn't willing to gamble an extra $2-3k that it would be covered (when I was pretty confident it wouldn't based on what the dealer showed me) and that Toyota Corp would help out with Goodwill. I still think I made the correct decision.

The EV drive system falls under the emissions control systems law - So clearly covered under CARB rules. That inverter is clearly part of the EV drive system. No matter what the dealership tries to wiggle out of; Push comes to shove, you would've prevailed in small claims court.
The reason Toyota Corporate won't reimburse you is because you didn't get it diagnosed at an authorized Toyota center. It's part of their fraud prevention policy. Fraudsters send phony bills to corporations all the time, and sometimes some stupid clerk pays them. They didn't tell you that part wasn't covered???
