What is the purpose of the Battery Heater and Cooler settings? Advantages and disadvantages of having those set to On or Off?

    Thank you in advance,

The heater keeps the temperature of the battery from falling below about +5°C, to avoid it having restricted output when you start driving, so there's less chance of the car deciding to start the engine.

The cooler cools down a hot battery before charging, to reduce wear on the battery - better to charge when not excessively hot.

You might want to disable the options to avoid the extra power use - tell the car to only use power for actual charging.

Pros: Battery heater and cooler can both work while driving too, if the battery gets too cold or too warm, for whatever reason(s) !

Cons: Being able to find the settings in the menus can be tricky, since they are typically not used to often.

The settings don't affect driving - the heater's not used, air conditioning is controlled normally in G4, and cooling happens regardless in G5.
