Ok, I bought a new EGR valve for my 2015 Prius. Pretty obvious what the valve and flat gaskets are, but the red rubber gasket has me baffled. Where does it go?

Rubber one with the tab goes on the intake manifold.

It’s the gasket between EGR pipe and intake manifold.

I found it now. Thanks guys! I did get another intake manifold as well. So I'm doing egr cooler, egr valve, egr intake manifold, pvc valve, water pump rotor. Otherwise, is there anything else I should do while I've got this much stuff off?

All new? What was the dollar tally for those, close to a grand USD? Or some was salvage?

If you are doing all those things, you might as well do the egr cooler? Yes, it's the most expensive part of the train, but also second to none in terms of clogging.

I did get an egr cooler and pipe (salvage). Cleaned in my parts washer, it all looks great. It was all under $600 . The EGR kit was a close out from a Toyota dealer at an amazingly cheap price. Got the intake manifold new off Ebay. Next time around i'm going with an oil catch can as well.

I got the cooler. off Ebay and cleaned it in my parts washer. It's as clean as a whistle.

In hindsight: cleaning your original cooler would have worked out about the same? ;)

Probably, but I don't know how long it would take to clean and I can't afford downtime. This way, I'll have a clean cooler and EGR valve and manifold when I do it again in 50k miles. Hoping I can get several more good years out of this car.

Just built a 30 x 80 garage. Will be putting a 4 post lift in there, so much of this will become easier. I'm going to be working a hospice job where I'll drive extensively and get reimbursed for mileage. In a Prius, that's a winning game :).

Yes, that's on my list. Will start this job on Monday. Hoping not to take more than 2 days. I've watched enough YouTube to have a bit of confidence :).
