Hello folks. It’s an old question about HUDs and aftermarket windshields, but I’ve come across a “Transparent HUD Projector Reflective Film Car Windshield Screen Sticker” and I’d like to know if it could work with the built-in car HUD, or if it only works with a phone, GPS, etc., or if it works at all? I don’t have insurance for my front windscreen, and here in Australia an aftermarket one costs about $500, while OEM with HUD is about $900 AUD, which is a big difference—even though I like having a HUD. Has anyone tried that sticker, or gone for one of those $10–$50 external HUDs instead? I’ve seen you can connect some to the OBD-II port; I don’t need that much data, but I’d prefer if the external HUD, if possible, showed the same speed as the dash speedometer instead of showing a GPS speed.
