Dr Prius issues. Purchased a Panlong OBD2 Scanner Bluetooth for iPhone iOS Android OBDII Car Diagnostic Scan Tool Engine Fault Code Reader.(Which works on other APP's IOS) but I'm getting an error when in the APP (Connect OBD) please able bluetooth. It is abled and works on other APP's. This is an I phone any ideas? Thanks Gregg
Hi Gregg, Two things to try: 1. Re-install the App and this time make sure to "Grant access to nearby wireless device". 2. Make sure you only have one OBD2 App running at a time, otherwise two OBD2 Apps will be fighting for bandwidth and timeout. hope this helps, Jack
People also forget to disable their car audio interface, smart watch, air tags and anything else using the Bluetooth bandwidth. Your Bluetooth has to pick through all that interference to find that new device. Best to disable everything else so your phone can find the device faster and easier.
While not a dealbreaker, Panlong does not support Apple's bluetooth 4.0 connection. So it relies on 3.x and below, which may not be as good.
iOS has never supported BT below 4 (v2-3 is a version from 2005, totally insecure and more like a beta version). Get a better/modern BT4 dongle - or use android.
