I just crossed 300k km on my 2012 Prius which is close to 200k miles. I got it used with 160k km on odometer.

    1) Did you replace the HV battery pack? - No. Do you maintain it? - Cleaned the battery cooling fan (was not dirty) at 240k and installed homemade air intake filter.
    2) Did you replace the 12v battery? - Yes, at 250k, but as a preventive maintenance, old battery still tested as good.
    3) Did you replace the transaxle fluid? How often? -- Yes at ~240k only once, but will do more often going forward.
    4) Did you replace the brake pads? - Yes. Rear sliding pins got stuck due to winter road salt and caused excessive pads wear. Serviced with some new sliding pins, and new pads and rotors in the rear and front.
    5) Your lifetime MPG (if available)? - Not known. Currently at 4.3-4.5l/100km or 52.3 to 54.7 mpg depending on driving mood.
    6) How often do you change your oil? - Every 5000km or less. Does your Prius consume oil? - No, or maybe a little as I cannot really notice between the oil changes. What brand / product did you use? - Used to use Mobil 1, then just Mobil, full synthetic.
    7) How about posting a picture of 200,000 miles on ODO? - Yes, here: PXL_20251029_224336225.jpg
    8) Did you install an oil catch can? How often do you inspect or dump it? - Yes, after EGR circuit cleaning at 240k km. Approx after each 1000km and more often during winter. I have installed a drain valve to avoid opening it as it is located under the engine. Do not inspect it, only drain.
    9) Have you cleaned the egr circuit? How frequently? - Yes, just once, but will do it again if I see a carbon buildup in the air intake.
    10) Any other maintenance? - Rust protection undercoating every year for the last three years. Replaced part of surface corroded, but still working braking lines in the rear. Changed engine coolant pump and thermostat as a preventive maintenance, rear wheel hubs (NSK brand) after the left rear speed sensor failed and then both front wheel hubs as a preventive maintenance at 290k km. Plan on replacing rear trailing arm bushings and front control arms, sway bar bushings and ties next summer as a preventive maintenance, but currently no issues/noises with old ones yet, just for peace of mind.

I bought a 1 gallon container of Fluid film and I sprayed the inside of my wife's 2013 Ford Escape rocker panals and this summer I am going to put my Prius up on Jack Stands and spray the inside of all the frame rails and inside the rocker panels. I bought some Cinnamon essential oil and mixed a small amount in the 1 gallon container of Fluid Film so my vehicles won't smell like a sheeps ball sac.

I think the whole sheep smells thus, not just that bit you mentioned.

Cinnamon essential oil really helps to get rid of the sheep smell. . My wife never complained about any smell. When I first opened the can of Fluid Film it definitely smelled like sheep sebum

I’ve used boiled linseed oil, just brushed-on external suspension components, bolts, anywhere I’ve noticed corrosion starting. Seems quite effective, and lasts.

Eric O has several Fluid Film videos and uses it on his own Tundra. He is not sponsored.

Damm right. LOL. Minnesota road salt eats up cars and trucks. My Prius is darn near rust free because I have used Fluid film as well as Amsoil MP (Metal protector) as an undercoating and I sprayed it into body panels and into frame rails. I just had Andrew from Minnesota Hybrids replace my HV battery today. Only $850 dollars which is no worse than the cost of a new set of 4 tires versus considering having to junk my car since it would cost $3500-$4000 if a dealer were to do it. I am now going for 500,000+ miles or 804,672 Kilometers for our Canadian friends and there is a good chance that my car will make it.
