Has anybody had this addressed yet? I dropped my 2025 Prius Prime off yesterday morning for the software update that would fix this. After a few hours I was informed that there was some problem with the update and was lead back to get anything I might need out of my car. The tech had a laptop plugged hooked up and was explaining that the estimated finish time was 4 hours so they gave me a loaner and I took off. About 2hrs later I was called by the tech rep who explained that after this error updating, Toyota service HQ had recommended replacing the ECM (how many are there?). They don't have parts availability at this point and are going to contact me today. In the meantime, the car in un-driveable. So, my car was bricked by doing a very minor recall to repair the backup camera. Had I known, I'd have just skipped it and waited for it to fail. Not sure if it's worth asking about parts availability should this happen to your vehicle beforehand or not but it can happen. What has been anybody else's experience with this recall?

    My condolences.

    There is this thread.
My opinion is that they screwed up, but what do I know.

Perhaps a genius will comment, but I wonder which ECM they are updating that makes it "undriveable"?
    And yeah, maybe multiple?

This panoramic mirror thing is a luxury item.
It reminds me of a recent thread on such luxury items.

There are many ECUs (I'm not sure how many for gen 5; it was about two dozen in gen 3). One of those ECUs is called the ECM, and the rest aren't.

Maybe they didn't mean the ECM? Seems unlikely to me that a backup-camera reflash would affect engine control.
