I have been thinking about replacing my 12 V battery in my 2014 Prius-plugin and noticed water underneath it. About an inch deep or so.

    Quick fix:
I do use my brain once in a while; I hunted around for a plug of some kind at the bottom with my hand, felt a rubber thing, and used a needle-nose pair of pliers to push it in from the outside. The water drained out.

    Mystery:
I was very proud of myself till I realized that I had no Idea how the water got in. Any thoughts?

And yes, I love this forum. The battery replacement with an AGM seems like the right thing to do, especially given the tons of data and advice here. Always feel guilty that I take more than I give.

various points: under the black plastic strip in the rain gutters can have micro cracks. the hinge bolts on the hatch, bad hatch gasket or glass, even the tail lights can leak
