I have a 2010 non starting (ready doesn't light up). At the latest scan i only got code b279a tds communication line high fixation. My car is a japan import. In the repair manual i see that with auto light i should have the ID box. I have removed the complete dash to see if wires were faulty. I can only find the smart key module. With the key i have i can un-lock the doors and turn the ignition on. On the scantool i also get the message that the Theft deterrent system is not supported or responding. # which module is the theft deterrent system? # where is the id box located?
Just an update on this post. The car still does not start. Ready doesn't turn on. What i did was read all the data from the prius, prius-c and Lexus rx450h. Non have a specific theft deterrent system. The data that was different with the other 2 cars was that the s code, l code show NG and the master key "unset". On the other cars S and L code showed OK. Master key showed 'Match". So far i checked all the wiring and replaced the TCM and smart key module. I'm waiting for a complete set with ECU, TCM, PCM, SKM, Key, Push button and the module next to the PCM. Will give an update when i receive the items
