Same subject as elsewhere in my ramblings... but never exp'd this fault before on the 5G. Driving around, nothing at all amiss or even hinting at such, all morning. Then when on a crowded main drag here surrounded by other vehicles... car suddenly has faults in the Safety Suite, msgs appearing persistently on the dash. Didn't see all of them, but 'Lane Keep Assist disabled' and 'Cross-Traffic Alert disabled', and one more I think was for the collision-avoidance braking function -- all cycled on the dash, appearing again secs after clearing them (w/ the " ↰ " button). Were a minute from my destination (couldn't pull over in stopped traffic) and didn't see or feel any other functional deficit... so continued gently on and parked. Scrolling and trying different things in my capacity with the 'gear' Settings page in the dash didn't do anything, so turned the car off and went inside. Returning to the car... started & back onto the street -- so far so good, warnings went away. But saw on the dash, under the chevrons for the spacing used by the dynamic cruise control... were a green steering wheel icon -- and with a big flatbed truck ahead 2+ lengths away at a light, hard-braked to a near-stop -- f***ing glad no cars were behind me... situs reversed I'd have been hot. But then that also disappeared, and function returned to normal WITF is going on...? Dangerous for one... and defo unexpected. Any ideas what this could be? Jesus, has the car been hacked OTA? Seemed like it, being in traffic when it happened. Or did Toyota do an OTA update somehow, which then decided to bug whilst car were in motion, in traffic? Kind of unnerving, esp if someone can do this at will from another car Side note: Toyota Canada's implementing some rather sweeping changes to security and theft claims priority on several models, as new ones seem to be disappearing into thieve's hands rapidly there. If this turns out to be an OEM s/w-h/w vulnerability, wonder how related this is, to that reaction by the mfr.

Goal: By getting a unique Case Number, you create a permanent record that Toyota Corporate must track. This is the only way to trigger a recall or a future reimbursement "Customer Support Program."

Scary -- and not heard of this fault at all on 5th-gens (try to follow Toyota and Lexus news via LSFT, a Lexus-centric YT channel, iinm from Canada). The green steering wheel icon means that lane keeping was active. With the flatbed in front of you, under certain settings, the car would automatically brake to avoid a collision. Was there a beep and a red rectangular alert box popping up on the display where the speedo is? As for the other failures, I would suggest getting the battery checked or the codes read to see if there is anything stored in memory.
