A great American: Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister, deeply rooted in the African American Baptist tradition, serving at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, and drawing inspiration from his family of preachers and his theological education. One of many, he helped inspire millions in the Civil Rights movement. I am old enough to remember “I have a dream” on the mall: Thank you Dr. King for a life well lived. Bob Wilson
Agreed on all counts. But Dr. King and his 'I have a dream' crowd was not the biggest of Washington DC crowds. Because we all know that crowd size lead will forever belong to our current top nitwit in DC.
Trunk removed free access to the National Parks for the MLK and Juneteenth Holidays, but made free access to the Parks for Flag Day which falls on his own birthday. April 20 was the holiday for whose birthday?
Places to Get Interagency Passes (U.S. National Park Service) Also available to seniors, kids, disabled, etc......
Thanks to ETC's timely prompting, I've returned from a pleasant road trip to my nearest Place to Get Interagency Passes with a nice shiny lifetime pass that, I am delighted to confirm, does not bear the mark of the beast. Even better, what it does bear is a photo from Yellowstone, where I visited just a year and a half ago.
NOPE. As answered excellently by @ChapmanF above, ALL U.S. seniors (62+) are entitled to a lifetime pass for a nominal fee. They're not just for National Parks - BLM reserves (the reputable one, not the other one) NFS, and even some state parks are covered. Vets and others prove eligibility through id.me - and can download a 'digital' pass instantly, but I paid $7.50 for a plastic card to be mailed, in addition to my digital ID. No. Neither one of mine have P47's mug on it. That's just a shameless money grab by the National Park Service, who knows that TDS sufferers will happily pay ANY PRICE for a replacement in 4 years.
