    Subscriptions are the current fad among a growing number of industries.

    Music,
    Movies,
    TV,
    Videogames,
    Software of all sorts,
    Cellphones,
    Computers,
    Car ownership,
    Housing,

    Since everything has a useful lifespan companies are now capitalizing on that. Eventually everything will likely become subscription, rental or leased based. There is no big reason for companies to sell you stuff since most people will come back and buy the latest and the greatest later on. So, why not just spread out those payments over so many years and call it a subscription, a rental, or a lease?

    We're getting to where nobody owns anything. Generally, that might not be a bad thing. It's a bad thing only if you want to keep something beyond its determined useful life. Someone might want to keep their cellphone for all eternity. I'm not sure why. But there are also people who'd like to buy one last computer and a copy of Microsoft Office and just keep writing on that long after it's considered obsolete. But no! You can't do that anymore, now can you! Soon, it will be the same for everything else.

    Not until it gets Model 3 efficiency. I get roughly 4.5 mi/kWh, better than the EPA (and original) 4.0 mi/kWh.

    I am monitoring 2024 Model 3 prices but still too high. But w/o Autopilot (if turned off,) no interest.

    But the Model Y has better fuel economy than the Model 3, according to EPA.

    Why not get a new Model 3 and swap your old FSD if you like the Model 3, then?

    On the fuel economy note, I see that Toyota bZ is now catching up on fuel economy with Tesla. Huge improvement, like 50%, in fuel economy since the original bZ4X! I wonder if Toyota will eventually also be the fuel-economy leader in BEVs as it is on HEVs and PHEVs. And no blob shape like Tesla! ;)
