Winter here, very cold. Occassionally , nothing happens when I push defrost in lower left corner button on screen. The OFF button does light up, but no fan engaged. 2008-09 model Prius. Depressing OFF button, it is no longer lite up. This scenario happened 6 weeks ago, it wasnt as coldout, then it started working again and has worked perfectly every day since until today. We have averaged about -20 F for several days. Can try to check fuses, if I can find them. Your input welcomed!
Do the other settings work on the heater/defroster? As in the vent settings still change? Also you might want to replace or remove cabin air filter. Sometimes restricted air flow can create symptoms like this.
Hello. The vent settings change but no fan. I will check the cabin filter but it is 6 month old. I have noticed that when you press defrost button it stays on outside air , not re-circulating air. To re-circulate you must push the re-circ button.
Following up on this ...no apparent problems with cabin filter...didn't touch anything but car turned off and sat overnight, and now defroster fan comes on. Puzzling. Thanks
