So my wife kept nagging me to replace the fuel injectors cause she said it may fix the problem with the rough engine sound that happens when the engine turns off. Welp i finally did it even though i didnt want to and now a 30 minute job turned into a 3hr job cause after the replacement the engine started knocking like never before. Never heard these sounds before and need a fix. From research ive dont it can be an o ring issue at this point. new sparkplugs/coils/pcv.
After replacing with new injectors we got off ebay from what seems to be a reputable source and denso brand of course, the engine sounds super rough when it kicks in and when it turns off. it stops when i give it gas but starts again when i let go of the peddle. Yes, when putting back the air filter hub, i made sure it was connected as well. No fuel is coming out where the injectors are so its not a fuel leak from what i can see.
I got a miss-fire code on all 4 cylinders last i checked before giving up. Will check again tomorrow in the morning and see what codes i get before starting the job again. (code p0300,p0301,p0302,po303,p0304) should i take the spark plugs off and see if cleaning them off will work? random thought

We are trying to get get replacement rings close by cause we dont think its smart to drive with the car sounding like this. Any advice when redoing this all? Also, its a little dirty in the area where the o rings that go in the engine is. Im afraid to try to clean it cause some of the dirt may get in the engine when i do. Is it fine if some get in there, if not whats a good way to get dirt out of the area without it going in the hole where the injectors go in?

also, how do i know if ive dont this all right? is the engine suppose to make a sound still like its rough until it relearns the right air flow and fuel mix? or just it just go right back to sounding like a smooth engine?

Did you replace all the parts at the same time? Injectors, plugs, coils? Or did you replace plugs and then test? then coils? then injectors?

Getting parts off ebay is always a question idea, as there are plenty of counterfeit parts that may not work right. Replacing one item at a time can help you figure out which item was good and which item wasn't good.

If the O ring is bad, you may see fuel leak out, if you don't see fuel leak out, the O ring probably isn't the problem.

I replaced all the sparkplugs and coils in December along with the pcv valve. I'm going to put the old injectors back in and see if it sounds normal again.

Test the old ones (there are dozens of YouTube videos showing how) before putting them back. If the spray pattern isn't great then run some cleaner through them. A rebuild kit for the stock injectors runs $20-$30 dollars from one of the many injector rebuild sites. No idea how to tell which ones sell quality filters and rubber and which are crap. New OEM injectors are like $150 each, ouch.
