Is it the driver's seat or my butt?

The hood and windshield rake of a new Honda Civic is not too far off from the Prius but to me the Civic seat position is Much more slick and sly than Prius liftback.

I think to get a heads up on what's coming for 4th Gen Prius manual dr. seat(ing), just have a look at the all new Corolla.

Shame how I can jump in my niece's 11 year old Honda Civic with 155k miles on it, dirty inside and no so well maintained and it feels much more 'normal' just to be in, sit in and drive than my Prius and goes around corners better than my Prius.

There are a lot of people on here who have no idea what they are talking about. One person after another is saying that there are no problems with the prius and that Toyota doesn't owe it to their customers to design a seat that doesn't hurt their back and all the gaslighting on top of it that it is only the 3 people in the chat who have had problems and if anyone else had problems then they would have commented in the chat a long time ago. Where do I begin? First off, forums are extremely outdated and people don't participate in them anywhere near as often as they used to. Most people just quickly read a forum to see if they can find an answer to their question, and if they can't then they just move on. Not everyone has the time nor the desire to register an account just to find the answer to one question, especially now that we have Chat GPT. Gaslight me all you want, but that doesn't alter the fact that I am in gut wrenching pain everytime I drive in a prius. The seat doesn't go high enough for my thighs to be parallel with the ground, the seat even fully raised tilts slightly back and sucks my butt into the seat so hard that my butt is actually resting on the back rest and not on the seat itself. When I scoot forward so my butt is not on the back, my hips are now so far forward that my back can't reach the back rest without bending at an unnatural angle. The sides of the chair push my shoulders forward, as does the head rest which juts out at me, and it all bends my back like a banana. It is getting to the point where I can only drive for Uber a couple hours at a time because I am in so much pain. I have tried every combination humanly possible on the seat and back rest controls and never could find a sweet spot. I have watched countless of useless youtube videos that all say the same "great value" generic advice, and nothing that has any real answers. I have seen all the recommendations on what angle my back should be at and how the wheel, seat, and back rest should be adjusted. I have tried seat cushions and lumbar supports from the cheapest to the most expensive. I have tried taking walking or stretch breaks. I have tried everything and it is only getting worse. My back does not conform to this stupid chair, and when I try to rest my back against the back rest it bends my back into all these unnatural angles. I have been driving this car for years and my body is not getting used to it like other people have been saying. This is the worst car I have ever had and I am looking for any job that involves standing and will keep me the F out of this god awful car. I couldn't care less what anyone else says. Toyota doesn't value the health or comfort of its customers, so I am going to take my money somewhere else.

Good points. Yes, the backrest of my Two offers woefully scant lumbar support, and yes, the door armrest is too low (or too far away) to be useable.

My previous two cheap Japanese cars had the exactly the same deficiency of their seat backs. I modified them by taking the back apart and installing reinforcing bars, a sheet of stiffish material, and padding. In the case of the Prius, I haven't done that because I'm wary of offending the air bag system.

The seat of the new Nissan I test rode before buying the used Prius was even worse---whatever small consolation that is.
