Can I force rich/lean combustion for testing?

If so, anyone know what OBD messages to send?

You're going to need an ATS scope or something. you want to play with things . That's tuning . Scopes analyzers etc FNSRI mite be a good place to look. Unless you want to buy the real high quality expensive stuff

For gen 3 at least (and I'd assume for gen 2), Techstream indeed has an active test for driving injector timing to some percent extra rich or extra lean. There are some troubleshooting procedures in the repair manual that instruct you to do that.

Other scan tools that license the test info from Toyota should have that test too, but under agreement not to disclose the exact OBD messages involved.
