I recently bought a 2016 Toyota Prius with all available features. Today is my 7th day using the car and I drive it regularly.

However, since yesterday, I’ve noticed something strange.

While driving, the car makes a “beep beep” sound twice and then it stops.

    The issue is:

    • No warning, message, or icon appears on the dashboard
    • The sound happens at random intervals
    • Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t
    • I can’t figure out the reason

Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Do you know what could be causing this sound?

Not sure but check your dongle (car key) battery. It is a CR2032.

The car showed a low key battery warning on the dashboard, so I replaced the battery.

After that, the warning did not appear again.

Could this have happened because the car did not detect the key properly?

The key was in my jacket pocket and placed on the rear seat.

You need to keep the key near you in the driver's seat. Your Prius can detect if the key is with the driver.
