I just picked up a used prius with250k on the clock. I put in a new oem 12v battery in it this morning and ran the dr. Prius app. It looks like on the high voltage side one cell is lagging behind. This is a budget beater extra car and I would like to keep Costa low. Can I get away with replacing the single cell?

What are your thoughts overall on these results?

The one cell you are referring to is actually 2 separate modules. There are 28 modules altogether. OBD2 system will show 14 blocks of two modules each.

Second, a low voltage block is only part of the story. The real question is always whether the modules are experiencing diminished capacities and therefore do not charge completely leading to low MPG and ultimately PA080. At your vehicle's age, the modules have definitely seen better days. Also, the pack is only as strong as it's weakest module.

The real way to deal with this problem is to run charge/discharge cycles on each module and then decide which ones to chuck. This video does a great job of explaining the process. Good luck!
