    Hi PriusChat,
I drive a 2014 Prius Plug-In Advanced (all lighting is OEM for this trim). I’m struggling with night visibility — especially in darker areas and even worse in rain. Unless other cars are around lighting things up.
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has improved their lighting setup.

    A) Headlight Improvement Options

    1. Has anyone upgraded the stock headlights on this model?
    2. Are higher-performance halogen bulbs worth it?
    3. Has anyone done a projector retrofit or swapped to a different assembly with better results?

    B) Adding Fog Lights (No Factory Fog Lights)

    1. Has anyone added OEM-style fog lights to a Plug-In that didn’t come with them?
    2. Are there clean kits that integrate with a factory-style switch?
    3. Is wiring pre-run on the Advanced trim, or does it require a full custom harness?
    4. Any specific brands that actually improve visibility in rain (not just for looks)?

    C) Rain Performance

    1. Are certain bulb color temperatures better in rain (warmer vs. cooler)?
    2. Any real-world recommendations that improved contrast and reduced glare?
    3. Anything else that helped in heavy rain or very dark roads?

I’m focused on safe, functional improvement — not blinding oncoming traffic.

I appreciate any experience or part recommendations.
