Just bought the AISIN off Amazon. Originally bought another one for $40, but the potential for inverter problems just isn't worth the $70 I'd save by going ultra cheap. So I cancelled and reordered. The only video I've found is from Nuts about Bolts. This one doesn't seem to be that hard. Anyone else who has done this, any pointers much appreciated. Looks like the only way to do it is take off all those bolts :).

Bought from AISIN store on Amazon. The water pump was the real deal. The inverter pump from the dealer is an arm and a leg.

    From my notes:

    Engine water pump:
    Toyota p/n: 161A0-29015
    Aisin p/n: WPT-190
    Inverter water pump:
    Toyota p/n: G9020-47031
    Aisin p/n: WQT-001

    The Aisin versus "genuine toyota":

Buy Genuine Toyota G904047090 (G9040-47090) Inverter Water Pump Assy(W/motor). Prices, fast shipping, photos, weight - Amayama

It is frustration personified: from the underside of car the inverter coolant pump is right there, but it's fasteners are 'round the other side... :cautious:

Car was made to be put together, not worked on. But I figure on changing the inverter coolant and may as well knock out the pump. Battery seems to be fine and I know it's never overheated as clean as the fan was. If the head gasket and my battery hold out, I'm gonna get 300k out of this before any other major work. Sure would be a bummer to have a problem with the inverter pump. It's a 45 mile drive to work.
