I just repaired my glove box button. It was flying off the dashboard. ChatGPT recommended replacement as repairing the tab has a low success rate. I took everything apart and I think I have a great repair for it. It does require a small 3d printed part. I have it posted on Printables. Search for "Toyotas Prius Gen3 Glovebox Button Tab Replacement". Perhaps someone else can post the link. I do not have link posting permissions yet. I replaced the lower button, but the mechanisms of both appear identical so the part SHOULD work for either. 5-minute print. $55 saved for a whole new assembly.
