I managed to back into a snowbank the other day and crunched one of my rear fog lights.

Does this look like something that a local body shop can snap back into place, or does this look like I'll need a new part?

Hard to tell....might just need to get behind there and look at the brackets. If they are broken, you will have to replace else it will just keep popping out. If not, they should be able to click back in the right place.

Check the repair manual. A poster here put one together from Toyota's site. It may not be too difficult for you to get behind the piece to check or fix it yourself. If connectors are busted, tape from the back might work as a fix.

Is that black trim piece metal or plastic? If it's plastic, apply some heat (hair dryer or heat gun) and pop it back in place before it starts warming up and retaining that shape.....

I checked under mine. Covered by plastic. Can't get to back of light without removing, I suppose.

If you found the part, cheap, I wonder if you could destructively reduce the size of the existing one, pull it out, and pop in the replacement. Maybe it could be removed from the front without destroying it? Depends on how hard it is to get to the back I suppose.

Heating it up, should give you some wiggle room - Just be careful prying on it; the soften plastic may dent and deform. I wouldn't pry on it while it's cold either - plastic tends to be brittle when it's cold. You need a happy medium point.

    Just saying.....

    This might help.

Just for future readers reference, that's the reverse light and rear reflector. US models don't come with a rear foglight. (And a rear foglight is red)

Actually, looking closer it seems the light itself isn't busted, it's the black trim piece that's popped out. I'll let the dealer see what they can do with it, I guess; if the plastic has actually snapped off then just pushing it around won't do anything.
