Hey everyone, I am selling my 2017 Prius to Carvana and ran into an issue during my drop off appointment yesterday. When the advocate inspected the car, their diagnostic scan tool (Bluetooth dongle), which is FIXD brand, was not able to read my vehicle. It connected but the message indicated that the car was not responding to the sensor. Because they were required to submit a successful scan to their system, they were unable to proceed with the purchase. The advocate asked me to reschedule the appointment and take care of the issue before coming back. I mentioned that the scan tool itself might be the problem, but she explained that she had used the same tool on other cars earlier that day without any issues. She even tried scanning my car again with me present, but the result was the same. After leaving, I tested the car using two different diagnostic scanners (Bluetooth dongles) that I own, and both connected successfully and read the vehicle without any problems. Because of this, I do not think there is an issue with my OBD port, wiring, or fuses. It seems more likely that the FIXD scan tool they use does not work well with my car. I have read a few posts from others who experienced similar issues when selling to Carvana, but I have not found a clear solution. Their offer is pretty good, and I do not want to miss it. I am rescheduled for another appointment next week, and I want to make sure the scan works smoothly this time. Has anyone dealt with this before or found a workaround? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
