    That's fine if your cell phone and your internet works.

    if you had physical cash, you were done for.

    You can always eat your smartphone.

    I doubt it. If the phone satelite and internet is down in large area, then cash flow will stop. Yeah, you can buy the last bag of bread on the shelf in the corner general store. But for most part, you can't buy anything without internet and satellite network working. I'd rather stash non-perishable MREs (Meals-Ready-to-Eat) than cash in my safe.
