Following up on this. 2011 Prius 2 USA model. 150k miles. Noticing electric range has reduced. Battery doesn't charge up full as often (short 1 bar where as previously charges up full all the time on long downhills) on the display and discharges faster. Downhill runs will also have engine kick on more often to bleed the full charge. 1. PN G9510-47060 2. PN G9510-76014 is PN provided by Seattle region dealer for my US 2011 Prius 2 VIN JTDKN3DUXB5317430 Amayama Shipping Won't provide a shipping quote for #1. Says "Some shipping methods were hidden because your order contain oversized or dangerous items." Won't even provide weight on #2 so no shipping options. Online searches on 2 PN G9510-47063 (supersedes ending in 60,62) for 2010, 2011 G9510-76014 for 2012+ Lakecity Toyota Parts Dept (Seattle area) Says #1 has 0 quantity in US. Actually higher price than #2 #2 is $1993.28 w/$1350 core This was actually lower than the $2200+ I recall from checking 3-4 years back. (I actually got quoted $25xx on the first call which is list price but the 2nd call 2nd guy said quote was saved and discounted to the lower price) I wonder if #1 is for JP market and #2 for US? Anyways, at $2k+tax+core pickup local to me seems like a pretty good price compared to any used, refurb, and aftermarket options out there (NiMH cells, Sodium Ion after Lithium Ion using NIMH BMS fiasco)
If you have the cash, go get it done. You will be happy. Dealer doing the work will get you 3 year warranty. Otherwise, it's 12 months. Make sure your existing battery modules are all OEM, otherwise the dealership won't refund your core charge.
Did you get it done? @ what miles? big difference after in terms of more power? longer electric range? better gas mileage? (YMMV depending on driver of course) I can DIY and save some $ and not too worries about the battery > 36 months. Going forward probably every 50k ATF drain+fill, ~200k head gasket, 2nd round of 100k regular maint and additional maintenance items (EGR pipe, valve, intake cleaning, electric water pump rotor) If brake actuator fails, I'll replace it with used part considering $$$ for new.
