Hi all, my apologies if this copart posting is frowned upon, but I would like to lean on this group's knowledge. https://www.copart.com/lot/78733935/clean-title-2009-toyota-prius-mn-minneapolis-north We've got a clean title and plebs like me (non dealers) can bid on it. No body damage. Primary damage is listed as "mechanical", and we can see the brake fault codes. Obviously this is only speculation, but what could be wrong with it? Worst case scenario it's a bad brake actuator? I wonder how difficult those are to swap and bleed without Techstream? I have a parts car with an intact actuator but it's also been sitting for about 4 years. Assuming taxes and fees are 1k what's the maximum you would bid on it?
You can see some hints of rust at the bottom panels. That would be my concern, just looking at the photos. I've seen some good looking cars that are destroyed underneath and in the suspension. I know my friends in Ohio are used to seeing it and dealing with it, but rust is not for me. I'd make sure that met my expectations first, before bidding. Everything else is easy.
