    Hi All,

I bought a 2008 Prius with 148K miles from a private seller about 3 weeks ago. I've put on about 300 miles since owning it and I've been getting 39-40 mpg during that time. Yesterday I went for a drive around town and the dashboard lit up with the Red Triangle, Engine Light, Brake System Warning Light and VSC Warning Light. So I pulled up Dr. Prius and saw I had code P3000. I ran a separate OBD app to find the P0A80 code. That day was the first time I noticed the Battery Bar charging to full 8 bars and discharging to 2 and back to 8 bars very quickly. I took a few screenshots of the Dr. Prius data as I drove the car home. I cleared the codes and drove home with no issues. But today the dashboard lit up again on my 15 min drive around town. And I eventually heard the motor behind the backseat air intake turn on high when my hybrid temperature reached ~110° F(Got up to 75° in my area). I'm pretty sure I need a new hybrid battery and wanted to check with others in case I'm missing anything.

    Things to note:

    - 12V battery is reading 12.7V after car has been off for a few hours

    - I cleaned the hybrid battery fan a couple weeks ago along with the MAF and Throttle Body

    - Replaced the JBL Amp to fix a volume issue

    - Replaced Engine Air Filter and Cabin Filter 3 days ago

    - Replaced Parking light and all interior lights with LEDs

    - The Electric Inverter Water Pump was replaced during the recall in 2013

    - Prius is still on the original hybrid battery

Is there anything else I can check or look at before jumping in to buy a new hybrid battery?

    Thank you

Based on the Dr Prius screenshots, it appears that one of the two modules that make up block #5 is bad. You need to decide if you want to replace the battery module yourself or get a complete replacement hybrid battery.
