2009 Prius ABS problem

    just had work done on my Prius. Can someone tell me if the encoder ring is on the wheel bearing or the CV axle. I am confused by different search results. I have a looked in the speed sensor hole on the knuckle and I see the dust cover. No encoder ring or tone teeth.

    Maybe the different search results are including the rears (where it's part of the hub bearing assembly) and the fronts (where it's part of the CV axle). :)

    There is a dust cover at the knuckle riding around the end of the CV axle and I think it should have a hole in it for the speed sensor to read the tone ring, and if it's installed so the hole's not lined up there, that's likely to be a problem.
