Less than 40 shops in the US that work on hybrids? Lol According to Google there's 230,000 auto repair shops in the US. That map is beyond worthless.
When I bought my Prius in 2006, no mechanic was willing to touch it. Now 99% of the shops will do repairs especially, non hybrid like wheel bearings, water pumps etc. Today, this is the same case with Tesla. No mechanic will go near them. I am not talking about HV batteries, they will not even replace control arms or plug and play MCUs and screens. Anyway, I never found a trustworthy hybrid shop in Northern Virginia. If you know one let me know. I do almost everything DIY. I do not trust even the Toyota dealer who burned me before.
You’re not kidding, some gambling/porn site in Thailand. I clicked on it, curious if Tampa Hybrids or Hybrid Pit Stop were included.
Somebody like Mendel who is on here all the time should create a list, put it on google drive and share the link. You want more than shops who do hv battery swaps. Once the link was created the file could be updated without a new link. It's possible Wikipedia might allow a page with a public updatable list. The problem with that option is salesmen on here and elsewhere looking for commissions would add extraneous and often misleading information.
Hey folks, Here is the Dr. Prius App Certified Shop Locator. These shops offer a variety of battery products, not just Sodium-ion batteries, and they all use clean busbars and check carefully for corrosion. I personally interviewed each of them, so I trust the quality of their work. NexPower certified shop locator - hybrid battery experts– NexPower Energy Best, Jack
I had an alignment 2 times at different shops and wasn't happy. One, the guy said he's done 20,000 of them as he explained my car going over in the other lane on flat doesn't mean it's not good. Went to the dealer and was spot on. ebm
Had a somewhat similar issue with our old Protege5. The car would pull slightly to one side, but it "sort of" tracked with which tires were where. A couple of shops saw that the alignment was a bit off (beyond the adjustable range) on one corner, but kept saying that wouldn't explain how the car was behaving. Finally found a shop that said to put in a "crash bolt" at that (rear) corner, and it should resolve the issue. So I bought one, had them install it and then align it. With the bolt in they managed to align the whole car to within specs, and that fixed the issue - after new tires were also installed. (Did this when the old ones were pretty worn, so it was time.) Apparently the one out of spec rear corner was putting a wear pattern on the tire in that location which would later cause it to pull when rotated to the front of the car. Once a few tire rotations had been done there were multiple tires with this wear pattern in various places. Made it very hard to figure out.
