    Neither does LUCK.

    Let's set the "way-back machine" to 1999.....

An F-117, callsign "Vega-31 was shot down over Serbia, Yugoslavia by a Rooskie SA-3 battery.
It wasn't a 'Golden BB' but rather just plain old bad luck assisted by a dash of complacency.
    1999 F-117A shootdown - Wikipedia
The pilot had the bomb bay doors open, which made the 117 about as stealthy as a Trump press conference, and the SA-3 operator was in the right place at the right time.
They only illuminated the jet for a few seconds (to avoid SEAD) but that's all they needed.
A cloud deck hid the launch signature.
The 117 was nearly 20 years old at the time.

    SO.
    As it turns out?
Stealth isn't the same as "invisible" and the enemy always gets a vote.

As the Russians are finding out in Ukraine, TECHNOLOGY doesn't care about people's feelings either.
Here's a longish video about the latest F-35 incident that goes '10 questions deep' that some might find to be...illuminating.
