That's just plain wrong. There had been a threshold of 2 before throttling speed, but that was increased to 4 an entire year ago. It never prevented you from using DC at any point. Also, the speed of DC charging in the 80% to 100% range was increased.

For me, my 4th DC charge within 12 hours delivered a peak of 72 kW with the CATL pack rated for 100 kW. Those with the Panasonic pack see peak in the 140's.

It’s going to be a great car when Toyota gets the base down around 35k and it qualifies for the federal tax credit

Credits are now just a memory, but automakers recognize the significance of a 35k offering. Here are highlights for Toyota's plan in that category with the base 2026 bZ:
    • $34,900 MSRP
    • $1,450 delivery
    • 236 miles
    • FWD (AC sync, 168 hp)
    • 8.1-inch ground clearance
    • 120V/1500W AC outlet
    • Heated front seats
    • Ambient lighting (front & rear)
    • Power liftgate (foot activated)
    • 8-way power driver's seat
    • Dual wireless phone chargers
    • Heated mirrors (with indicators)
    • 14-inch infotainment screen
    • Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
    • 11kW AC charging
    • 150kW DC charging
    • Digital key (free for 3 years)

Yes and the port will be moved to passenger front, allowing for Supercharging from the proper stall. Unfortunately, some charging units are poorly placed, so it will be a tight squeeze. Fortunately, being able to charge with a load on back is still available... something a Tesla cannot do.
Adapters will be included for both CCS1 and J1772.

chevy put the nacs plug on the front left like above on the '27 bolt, and everyone is wondering why they didn't move it to the passenger side

@john1701a I picked up my 2026 bZ AWD XLE in Supersonic Red yesterday. I was looking at a FWD in Heavy Metal since all my Prii have been FWD (2005, 2012 PiP, 2017 Prime), but my CFO was smitten with the red and she decided it was a deal too good to pass up. She initiated the sale with our local salesman much to my surprise. We got it for $9600+ off the sticker price plus 0.0% financing which made it cheaper than my 2017 Prius Prime :) and over $10,000 cheaper than the cheapest RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid.

First impression it is a big car especially when going from a Prius and roomier than the NX 300h. Man does it move. I'll provide a more detailed comparison at a later time.

John says the MSRP was $35k so does that mean you got it for around $26k w/ the $9.6K off?

John was reporting on a basic FWD bZ with a 57.7 kWh battery starting MSRP. I haven't seen any of those on lots around here. MSRP for the FWD bZ XLE plus is $37,900 which has the 74.7 kWh battery. MSRP for the bZ AWD XLE is $39,900 and don't forget to add $1,495 DPH to all of these MSRPs. Mine was off the window sticker price. Toyota gave $6,000 off included in my $9,600+ plus 0.0% financing.
