    Found a reasonable review:

    • Price and performance at 46:00 min
    • Preproduction test vehicle
      • “3.1 mi/kWh” - too low for me
    • Driver assistance looks acceptable
    • Built in Hungary - electro-political risk
    I’m not “Jonesing” for this one. Sounds heavier than I want and not as efficient as I can have or could get.
    My most recent EV is a 2017 BMW i3-REx bought used about three years ago. At 3.6-3.7 mi/kWh and affordable gas efficiency, 36-37 MPG, a reasonable Urban EV with similar to 2019 Model 3 cross country performance.

    Nice car but not enough for me … until we see fuel economy.gov numbers.

    That's what I read too @ 440 EV Miles!

    2027 BMW i3 EV returns the 3 Series to its design roots and boasts 440 miles of range

    I’ve got to see at least 3.6 to 4 mi/kWh to meet my efficiency requirements. The name doesn’t matter compared to my wallet.

    The semiofficial EPA figure for the 2027 BMW i3 on that one is 3.92 mi/kWh (440 mi / 112.2 kWh).

    In any case, why do you care? We, and you, all know that you would never get anything other than a Tesla even if it came with a cold-fusion reactor that doesn’t require refueling. To me, it looks like one of dozens of other threads you created to talk about how great Tesla is and how much the other cars suck.

    So far, all LiON batteries wear out by fixing the lithium in the SEI layer. So my 2019, first Model 3 battery range went from 240 mi new to 174 mi accelerated by the coolant valve failure. The replacement battery is closer to 180 miles and now holding steady.

    The BMW i3 after 80,000 miles is still showing close to the 108 mi my purchase benchmark showed but time and usage will eventually take that battery down to impractical lower range.

    These are inescapable degradations due to how battery chemistry ages. So it makes sense when a potentially, efficient EV shows up from an early pioneer in EVs shows up to check the facts and data. But let me suggest a better question.

    Bob, you are 76 years old, do you expect to outlive your EVs?

    In my experience, babying the battery (no DC fast charging, no storing at high SOC, no charging after driving, no rapid acceleration, etc.) helps. There is no noticeable range loss in my 2021 Prius Prime Limited PHEV after about 300 battery cycles, still getting up to around 40 miles in the city.
