I’m looking at a 2019 Prius on a small lot. It was used in fleet service somehow, robust service records on the carfax of being serviced at a Toyota dealership- oil changes on the 5’s, so I think this is a well maintained car. Miles 200k- which doesn’t bother me. Drove it twice, two separate times , 30 minutes of interstate and downtown driving- perfect . But today I decided to put my Bluetooth dongle and use my app- Scanner App on iOS in it and gave a bunch of codes. So they did the same at my request, using a good Autel scanner. While there were codes in the “history” they cleared all but these two remained. I’ve read what these are, and while it can be simple- I walked away. They later called me and said they took it to a shop and they were able to get those codes removed. From what I understand about those codes, they remain in there until there are at least three cycles that check out where all conditions are normal. And that includes driving the vehicle 15 minutes plus each time? I could’ve easily driven the car and just bought it and not worried about it. But I tried to be proactive. Maybe good call, maybe not. What would you Do? I love the car- cheap price.
