Hi all. I currently have a gen 3 but may be at the end of my rope. I ready want an awd vehicle and want to purchase used to keep at $20k. Any insight as to the reliability of the newer awd models are? Any common problems like the gen 3 had (head gasket, brake booster, inverter, etc)? Particularly if purchasing one with up to 100,000 miles.

We don't really know yet . This is a detuned Camry mill albeit with updates detuning etc for hybrid duty .the toyz inside vehicle are very dainty . No heavy handedness.9nterior space is at a premium. It's like Toyoda thinks erryun is now mid east small ? Or maybe the Prius is made for your 5 foot 4 to 5 ft 6 wife you're not sposed to be in that ? do not know. For the 20K roi will be a bit out they're . I'll still hold my gen2 hand. Thank you . What I see going on for sale in current US markets . I'll still hold. You're going to see somebody get byd trying to products into this country shortly . if hold out for xaomi x7 or such . In meantime I'm riding as close to free as you gonna get. Rt now a adult owned model. S kept up to snuff is almost no brainer sc01 free for life of vin etc DOH. About 15K. But it's Yuge !

4WD gives you more go but you won't stop any quicker. IMHO not worth the fuel efficiency and "more things to go wrong" penalties. Buy a good set of real snow tires and skip the 4WD/AWD. I'm in snow country and see more 4WD's in the ditch because of all-season tires and a retard at the controls. My FWD cars have plenty enough traction with the proper winter tires.

FYI used cars are going for stupid money in my area these days and I find it's cheaper to buy new and get 3-5 years of no headaches. I just traded in my 9 y.o. vehicle for a brand new one and the difference in price was the same as buying someone's used clunker with no warranty and everything ready for repairs and replacements. I think new car dealers are hurting for sales right now.

awd was introduced in 2019. I don't recall reading about any problems yet, but I would repost this question in the gen 4 forums
