Hello I have a 2013 Prius C. When I was driving it, it shut off the ICE, said "check hybrid system" and continued for a short distance on EV power. I ran the codes and found P0A94 (my reader doesn't do more detail than that) which combined with gas mileage reducing over the past few months lead me to believe I had a bad inverter. So I got a used inverter, from a car which matched my 7th & 8th digit of my VIN, and replaced it.

The car still throws P0A94 (though it shows up as historic, possibly because I told my scanner to clear the computer because I thought that might reset things?), still says "check hybrid system", and still doesn't go to 'ready'.

How do I figure out what part I need to replace?

A code showing up as 'historic' ought not to be causing a "check hybrid system" warning or preventing the car going READY. At least my first and second guesses would be that there is another code that is not 'historic'. But at the moment I don't have a guess as to why your scan tool hasn't shown it.

Yes I just checked again, it still says "historic". You'd think if it were a current issue it would come back presently.

Some more details: the gas primes when I open the door, then the steering wheel unlocks when I press the start button (with my foot on the brake), but the two relay clicks I'm used to hearing from the back seat I don't hear.

    Updates:

Using Dr. Prius/Dr. Hybrid (Menu -> Special Features -> Read Battery Error(s)), I was able to get some more detailed errors. P0A94, P0A09, P0A0D, U0110

P0A0D lead me to realize that there were some connections which were not adequately tightened from changing the inverter. My bad. I fixed that and it started again. I was able to drive it around the block, and was going fine as long as I went slow. However, the initial problem happened when I was speeding back up from going around a corner and likely had the throttle set pretty high, so I tried stepping on it pretty hefty and encountered some new issues.

    - as the throttle came up, power suddenly cut, leaving the engine spinning free. I let off the gas and the engine idled and then (I think) stopped. I coasted to a stop at that point and wasn't able to get any more forward push out of it until powering it off and back on. At the same time as the power cut it started beeping and the screen changed to "check hybrid system"
    - when I powered it off and back on, to my surprise, it started working again. I was able to drive forward again as normal, until I pushed the throttle hard again, and then it did the same thing: cut power, beep, check hybrid system. No forward or reverse power, but this time the ICE was still running
    - when I turned it off, it shut down slowly, roughly, hesitantly. It was strange. Then I turned it back on and it was fine again.

I was able to replicate the issue again in my driveway, and then ran Dr. Prius/Dr. Hybrid's battery error check again. This time, it says

    P0A78, P0A94, and U0110
