Very impressed with Lucid Gravity designs. Pricey but very nice. With adjustable suspensions for off-roading. If only they have solid states, lfp or sodum ions. Still on lithium ions.

Still haven't seen a tree or rock with a L2 socket you can plug into.... Your trip would be limited to half the distance of the nearest L2 charger, or spend the night at a L1 socket to get you back to a L2 charger. Off-roading; really messes with the range estimates because of the varying terrain and power requirements to get through them.

Hey, that cargo space alone can probably hold up to 5 kilowatts of solar!!

    Aren't Lucid's EV only?

Before people start chiming in that gas car are limited by distance from the gas station; there's something called "jerry cans"; no offense to jerry.

and how many miles/Kwh are you averaging on it and the assumption is that your going to get 100% output in the winter? There's a big difference between real world and theoretical. YouTube is littered with click-bait like that.

I've have setup solar that generate 3kw easily with these lightweight panels :)

That's nice - Kinda crowds out any room for emergency- and recovery- gear.
Again; assuming perfect 100% output without losses; how far is that 3Kw generated in an hour going to get you? Hopefully your not too far off the beaten path and have enough water to walk-out for a rescue.

This kinda reminds me of that Bubba joke - What's the last thing that person said to you before they died? Hey; watch this......

that's pretty cool, is it grid tied? I've thought about panels in the back yard, but idk how to use the output. I don't really want a battery storage system
I did see an interesting mini split, solar panel package.

That's meant for off-grid. But a lot of people are installing solar plugins with micro inverters and no permit required to lower their power bills.

Keep in mind. Starlink in "stand by mode" only costs $7/month. You can still get internet for that price but in slower connections.

As long as you can get an SOS out. I prefer the Garmin inReach; most people don't venture out into desolation - only to hook back up to the internet. No setup or pointing; just turn it on and get out from under cover.

And if that's not enough fun facts ...... we live in Montana for over ½ a year at a time. Closest service center? Lucid runs mobile service out of Seattle. LOL - that's over 500 miles away. hard pass

then there is conversion losses. Figure 5% best case scenario going DC to ac (for the cars slow charge port) & another 5% to convert that AC back to traction pack's DC. Then for actual use conversion again to 3-phase high voltage. Take your best guess for the conversion loss there.
A heavy EV might get you a mile per kilowatt hour - factoring for best conditions of weather & the azimuth of the sun.

For that price, people want more range on the label than LFP and Na-ion can provide.
The price will increase when/if solid state arrives.

During the hot summer times electric bills are very high. So I use them to power portable AC systems for my parents. Also good in rolling blackout situations. It will powers their portable AC for the entire day to night 9am to 9pm. I am using 6kwh LTO battery packs. I have more packs but 6kwh seems to do.

That systems looks good but doesn't have power banks. These things will require a permit. But best to consult with an electrician to see if it's compatible with your house or go with big companies like Sunrun. Costco has a deal with Sunrun.

    thanks!
we got quotes on grid tied solar roof a few years ago. unfortunately, the 10 year breakeven didn't make sense for our time horizon.
our latitude and some tree shading make it less cost effective.

Just glanced at the link - but I saw the word bifacial. Panels called bifacial have solar cells on both sides which means they'd run best if they're standing up on end so that early Sun in the morning runs great 1st half the day - up to the afternoon - then opposite side runs best on that later part of the day once Sun Passes over halfway through the day. The beauty is even if one side is not working ideal, it's still working some. Have been looking into setting up a system vertically on our property
