Hi all! Back again with my other Prius. I was driving home from work the other day (20+ miles, highway driving) and was a couple of blocks from my house when the red triangle of death appeared, in addition to the VSC and warning light. I've pulled the codes using an Autel MaxiAP200 and found: P3000 (detail code 123) P0A84 I've attached the freeze frame data for each. From my basic knowledge, seems like a problem with the HV fan (and that in turn throws a P3000 as a "something is wrong, help"). We had quite a bit of rain here in the past couple of weeks. Our other Prius had a decent amount of water in the 12V battery compartment (and this Prius has had water in there before). I cleaned and sealed the cracks in around the hatch in both after finding the water in the other Prius. Then a few days later, the code appears in this Prius. I'm thinking corrosion in the HV battery fan connector? I can't see anything else from the freeze frame data. So should I pull apart the rear and check the fan? Anywhere else I should be looking other than the connectors? Thanks!
Double checked with hybrid assistant that the fan was not turning on. Pulled apart the rear to get a look at the fan. Fan looks okay, if a little dust filled. Lots of corrosion on the fan connectors (see attached). Off to buy some butt connectors and heat shrink to bypass the connector.
Update! All codes gone and fan is running again. Bypassed the connector with some heat shrinked butt connectors. Didn't have a heat gun so tried to use a lighter to warm the heat shrink - this was a little dicey. Did an okay job, so also wrapped them all in some electrical tape in both directions. When putting it all back together, I snuck the wires above one of the plastic push connectors on the interior panelling. This seems like like it will keep it out of the way of where the water was dripping down, and it won't rub against any metal.
Hi i need some help! My 2008 Gen 2 prius hatchback has been a great car. No problems until lately. I recently replaced fuel injectors. Since then my check engine light has appeared often. p0172 is code when scanned. Cleared code when it appeared. I never had issue till i replaced injectors, o2 sensors, MAP sensor so i assummed that was the issue with checken gine light appearing. I did have the Hybid battery replaced a yr ago installed by company i bought recondition battery from. So i Recently replaced only fuel injectors again after the odor of fuel. Immediatly after doing that. No leakage from fuel injectors. I have triangle of death, ABS, & other lights associated with this. I am able to clear the triangl & all other lights but they appear very frequently now. which i can clear but do not want to drive it if i can damage other components. This is the only car i have & depend on. I didnt have any issues till i messed with fuel injectors which i regret now. Please any suggestions on my issue i would appreciate it?
@titan3dare ..... I recommend that you created a new thread for the problems with your car rather than highjacking someone else thread. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
