Did Randy's lista make its way on this forum? Was curious what other cars put out.

I did email Randy too, asking why he's selling larger kW units. He said Prius caps at 3.5kW and that his older 5kW was an error.

But I'm fine with 3kW. Reading on Will Prowse's solar forum, I found out that folks use solar MPPT to tap into the Prius battery. There are all in one units - MPPT, inverter, charger - that can do 0-500VDC like EG4 3kW or even Vevor 3kW more recently. I was bummed out that AIMS discontinued that 2Kw unit, but finding this bit of info made things good again.

I bet I posted a link to Randy's list somewhere upthread here.

No bets on whether the link still works.

I saw that link a few days ago - the one on plugout? - if so, it's dead.

Wayback machine is like Wikipedia. I like to donate annually at least for. Some sites, like the Installation Instructions | High Voltage Tie-in appear to have not been archived unless like I sometime do, like to print a PDF to be safe. That is, if I still have the files on a drive somewhere.

OK, what led me here is I got two OUPES MEGA1's which are awesome IMO, albeit for harder start situation I am planning on looking at Softstart capacitor type modules. I've thought about for years, just using a larger rated capacitor for things like table saws or chainsaws or what needs with inverters like old style, though never got around to making an extension cord box. I see there are modules that are cheap on Amazon and more expensive packaged designs.

Anyways, more related with this thread regarding the PriusUPS has been on my mind for years and well, it finally happened. I couldn't pass up investing in the Tripplite SU5000RT3UPM's that were less than a MEGA 1. Yeah, I got two reported as working with no batteries.

Now for the design and journey where I prefer to not connect to anything other than the tools I am using. So will be interesting integrating into a Prius.

Also, will be interesting using with the spec deep cycle batteries and potentially with custom spec NiMH only as well. Any thoughts for using like say another pack or multiple packs in parallel?

Though wanted to mention, those 240VDC inverters looks awesome, are compelling to get and is interesting reading that the cost to invest in the HV Solar systems have come down significantly since last I looked so equivalent might be on the market at a better price to be had.

Possibly broken, as parts for really cost effective, requiring only some simple electronic parts to repair.
