Hi all, Last year I tried to change my inverter coolant but the drain plug had been over torqued so it was a struggle. I stopped as soon as it started to strip the hex with the intention of coming back to it at a later date, armed with a longer bar (which I now have) and some liquid wrench (which I now also have). I would like a new plug ready to go if I do manage this time to remove it. I normally use megazip to id part numbers and buy parts but I am really struggling to find it. Does anyone by any chance know the part no? Thanks
Dealership parts department. Likely in stock or readily available, considering it’s prone to damage.
You want to change all the coolant in the system and you don't want to mess with the stupid plug you could heat the plug and it'll probably knock right out but that's another whole story if that did not come to Mind welp . Just use brake bleeder it comes with pick. Up hoses that will reach down into the inverter so I can pull all the coolant out with out pulling plug or jacking up my car . Or the old orange Black & Decker Jack rabbit pump some y'all mite be old enough to own such . This gets all the fluid out with the car level sitting on the ground. NO drain plugs In the mix .
The inverter/transaxle coolant fills up spaces down as far as the spaces on the front of the transaxle case and inside the bellhousing next to MG1, and the inverter radiator and the pump sitting down low there. Where do you insert your pick-up tube where it'll snake far enough down to pick up all that?
This tube is 4 mm or such as long as I can push n feed it . It will go . Next time will put it container the measure and check against the listed amount . See wer we are . Looks like it'll be pretty close if there's one or two percent or something left in there I can live with that the dilution will be. Good enough for govt work.
