I bought my first Prius this month, 2017, i really like it. I spent the day installing some audio upgrades. After i went after the dash rattle. I did not remove nor touch nor replace the head unit. I started on the B pillar on the R side, i'm using a LOC to feed an amp to feed a mono sub. I spliced into the speaker wires. I then went to the L side and did same thing. The Issue: On the R side i cut the black Power wire and white speaker - by mistake. Now the L side works, speaker BLK +, YLW - , window, door at this point... I went back to R side and i corrected my issue, i spliced back together the BLK power wire I check both speaker wires + and - with a meter i get 12v on them, 0v on the black, still no door, cannot open, window is down and in operable. Back to the L side, i decided to put the meter on there to see if black had power, well i slipped and touched more than one pin in the connector and i heard a faint something up front and now the L window does not work, although speaker does, door does. I am truly at a loss, i was in the garage, in the car a full 8 hours today, i'm exhausted and desperate for a fix, if any one can shed light on this i really would appreciate it. RECAP: RR door nothing works, new wire tap removed, BLK pwr wire connected. LR door and speaker work, no window op. I have tried the recalab window procedure on both. I have check all fuses under the hood, none blown. I have examined all pins on both wire connectors, all are good, none bent or anything.
I'm an idiot, the door lock was the physical level on handle, i was pulling the handle a 100 times, i assumed it would open anyways. the key lock-unlock did nothing, so door opens now. The door; window, lock, speaker have no power. I created a short circuit when cutting BLK PWR wire and that is what i need to track down, i have checked all fuses in engine bay, under the dash, fusable links at 12v batt. where else?
Went to the dealer, the pillar wire connector was not in all the way, despite me pushing hard many times. Also, they deleted error codes.
