hi all, a friend of mine had me look at his 2nd gen because he said it was making a strange noise when in reverse ... I came to look and did agree, really strange noise! I posted a short video on YouTube that you can hear the noise in... anyone recognize this sound? it's a new one to me, it makes this sound whether the brakes are depressed or not, every time it's in reverse ... even when warmed up. it's hard to describe, to me it sounded like it's coming from under the car, to the driver's side... would love any insight, thx friends.
When I had something similar, it was a broken pin and the brake shoe had come adrift. Only did it when I went backwards.
Is the sound only present when the car is moving? Where in the car is it coming from (as in front/back, driver/passenger side)? If an observer is standing outside the car when this happens, can they pinpoint they hear it too?
