Hello I have a 2009 prius that have used for 8 years. Bought another 2007 prius that had a battery issue and swapped the batteries because i needed to get the 2007 up and running qickly I fixed the battery cells that were not working well and replaced on 2009 prius. I had a P3000 as i started to drive it and 2 days later the 12v battery was out. Guess the 12v was causing the probelm and fully charged the abttery ad put it back it and drove for a mile and all was well today when i start the 2009 prius and put it on driver and its giving a Huge Motorbike reving kind of noise. Immediately shut it off. The noise was coming from the front underneath the engine. I also smell burnt petrol. Any suggestions please? Could it be that the exaust was disconnected or something? Thanks a bunch for your help
People occasionally steal catalytic converters. That leaves the exhaust system open right after the engine exhaust manifold, producing very loud exhaust sounds. It should not be too difficult to look under your car and see if the exhaust piping is present and intact.
