I took my 2019 Prius for its first oil change since I purchased it. I had been going to Take 5 for my 2nd Gen Prius. Their choices in 0W-16 were Mobil 1 or Pennzoil. I chose Mobil 1. Maybe it's my imagination but the car seems to be getting worse MPG since that oil change. Is this a case where the Toyota oil is the best to use? Thank you.
I've never heard that about mobil 1. it's best to track mpg's by the tankful at the pump. otherwise it can be your imagination. there are too many variables in day to day driving. nothing wrong with toyota or pennzoil either.
Prior to the oil change I had driven three tank fulls of regular gas, where my fuel economy averaged 55 to 57 mpg. Immediately after the oil change the car is indicating a fuel economy of 48 to 49 miles per gallon. The other variables have not changed, such as weather, tire pressure, fuel, etc I had seen on my Gen 2 Prius that switching from regular to non-ethanol would sometimes screw up the fuel calculation for a couple of hundred miles, but I'm not doing that on my newer car. Just weird. Thank you
