Oh wow, I thought there was a White option. I am guessing it is a light blue color that appears "Cool White" in certain conditions in photos and videos? Blue might be just as bad as Red but I guess I can try. As Obi Wan Kenobi once said: "Red is really not my color!" Is there anything in the settings to change the colors or have these been single color strips built in from the beginning?

Single color from beginning. Some owners of LE/SE cars have added LED strip lighting instead of factory lighting. They don't get the notification flashing, but RGB strips allow them to choose whatever color they want. And you could probably find a strip that flickers so fast you can't see it. The strips have adhesive backing(or the owners added it) and they are just stuck on top of the factory light. I think there's a thread about it in the mod subforum, but it's probably a few pages down(I think the owner did it in late 2023 or some time in 2024). It's not quite as clean as a factory install, but it gives an owner more options.

Okay NOW this is ALL starting to come together. Why no one has shown photos nor videos of changing the colors on the original lighting, why they flicker SO MUCH! I know not everyone is not an IT Major nor as tech savvy and technical as I am hear be out. Single color LED's are the lowest quality and cheapest LED's out there. THE SMD's are pitifully designed and just boarder line "Good Enough" to make out of the factories. This is one of the main reasons why they flicker so much.

I have come across that thread somewhere when I was found this one. I think it was on here, there is similar topic on Reddit. Someone was installing aftermarket strips. That person was able to get the notification lighting working by plugging the strip(s) into the middle connector. At lest that is what I got from it. I also kind of got the idea that even though the lower trims do not come with the lighting strips they still have all the power and data connections hidden inside the dashboard. At least that is what I believe I read as I skimmed it. I think that is how I learned to unplug it. Which thank goodness my partner does not seems to mind. He knows how much it frustrates me especially after prolonged night time driving. I think he kind of experiences the eye fatigue as well. In fact I think most people can perceive it and are just not aware of it. It is just us Autistic ones that cannot tune it out. :)

I guess the next thing to do is try the Blue lighting and if that doesn't work not work, consider just no lighting and "learn to adapt" to not having that very nice notification. I lived without it most of my life, I can do it again, I think.... My Second Generation Prius obviously does not have it when I go back to driving it and I seem to manage.

Not that it matters in your case since you have the wiring, but I wouldn't be surprised if the reports about bottom trims having the wiring come from PHEV owners. There was a thread here during the first year of production about footwell lights. An SE(PHEV) owner said they had the wiring for them, but an LE(HEV) owner said they didn't. I suspect there are so few SEs being made that Toyota has decided it would cost more to make a separate dash harness for it. But there are more than enough LEs being made(most Mexican Priuses are an LE equivalent) to justify its own harness. So if it doesn't have the footwell wiring, it probably doesn't have the ornamentation wiring either. But I've never been inside the wiring harness of an LE, so I could be wrong.

If you want my old trim pieces, send me a message and make me an offer. I'm probably looking for shipping plus a little bit of my money back. MSRP on the two pieces is about $1000. I paid about $700 because this was after I learned about dealers with discounts but before I learned about the regular seasonal sales. You can currently buy them brand new for $525-$600 depending on the sale. You might also be able to get them from a salvage yard close to you for much less. Well, depending if you're actually in Californian(obviously the city is a joke, but maybe the state isn't). Probably well over half of all gen5 Priuses are XLE, LTD, or Nightshades, so probably half of the Priuses that end up in junkyards have the blue light.

We talked about it, he does not want me taking apart his car. He is okay with me disconnecting it with that ODB app thing. He does not really care for Red but he will "deal with it". I am saving up for me own Fifth Gen Prime. There are a few things I would really want to change when I get it hopefully in Autumn. Whatever color I get, repaint it to Blue Magnetism 791, replaces the red plastic pieces that look like they came off a laptop from 2008 (which I know the LED strips are a part of), See if there is anyway to use the seat upholstery from a 2023 RAV4 hybrid XLE just because it has a beautiful geometric pattern that resemble Spaceship Earth and cloth.

We currently live in Texas. That is a reference to "Veronica Mars". Neptune, California (at least in the original run) is located roughly where I grew up as a child in Encinitas, California. The original run was filmed all over San Diego County. The film and the newer season(s) are filmed in the LA area. I do that to make my partner happy, he is very private and a lot of has rubbed off on me some how too. :)
