I think it's $30 for just info access for 2 days (downloading PDFs). But for the TIS software needed to do certain repairs it's $80.

My previous car had 6 3 inch binders repair manuals issued to the dealer. Only problem was the errata were seldom posted. so all the errors stayed to be rediscovered by anyone working on that section. And the bootleg copies all of us had were never updated.

I thought back to the many computer sites I visited that had never applied the manufacturer issued corrections. Or the Navy where NTAMs (Notice to All Mariners) had to be applied to charts on a daily basis lest you wander into something kinda serious.

Or today I think of how often I have to suggest updating the apps on the family cell phones.

There are repair manuals available for many Toyotas. Hard cover or soft cover. Google them. Are they as good as the manufacturer's online which leads you in the diagnosis and then to the parts needed and a step by step repair process. Heck no.

With so many models and engines and infotainment options that pull into the shop, how can any mechanic know it all without something like TIS?
