Pay attention to whose doing the blasting, then use ignore. If they don't understand the need to vent, they probably aren't worth the time for other matters.

In a few weeks none of us may be prospering.

senate / house republicans have gone on vacation directly before a needed vote on the debt ceiling, they want the shutdown to make propaganda about why we cant pay debt and how its not their fault.

my view is that if republicans dont want to do their job the dems should just write snd pass the bill without quorum and ignore the rules.

if no Rbis there just dont mske a quorum call.

As a Canadian, I can't share that gloomy outlook. While the tariffs are causing short-term pain, the long term is looking very bright. So many things are now happening in our favor; we elected a leader with financial expertise, many new trade relationships have developed and many big companies are moving the bulk of their operations to Canada. I can't help but feel very positive about the future.

A government shutdown will remove the government’s remaining desire to pay entitlements legal or not and drive further shenanigans to finish gutting agencies.

the pres desperately wants a shutdown to provide distraction so he can clear remaining legal issues.

I don’t have any free capital to buy stock. However, you convinced me it won’t be Hyundai anytime soon. Don’t let me stop you from buying Hyundai stock. I recommend Hyundai stock for all MAGAots.

South Korea trying to bribe the sociopath in Chief with Hyundai business ‘plan’ hasn’t worked with Ukraine either.

To what "entitlements" are you referring? All of them are paid for from hard work.
I receive a pension, which is a small fraction of all the millions I paid into it over the years.

Unfortunately, many people believe "entitlement" is something undeserved.

Just an update in case anyone ever question how toxic the UAW is to business competitiveness and cooperation and corporate success:

"Ford BlueOval SK Plant in Kentucky — Closure, Transition, and Future
The Ford BlueOval SK Battery Park plant in Glendale, Kentucky, was originally built as a joint venture between Ford and South Korea’s SK On to produce EV batteries for the Ford F‑150 Lightning. It was hailed as the state’s largest economic development project, with a $5.8 billion investment and a projected 22,000‑resident population boost for Hardin County WKU Public Radio.

    Closure and Layoffs
In late 2025, Ford and SK On dissolved their partnership, citing federal policy changes that reduced EV incentives and weakened EV demand WKU Public Radio. The plant shut down on February 14, 2026, with 1,512 workers laid off. Employees received pay and benefits for 60 days before their last day Ford Authority+1. The closure was sudden and met with frustration from workers and local leaders."

This was predictable as soon as Ford caved in to the UAW contract demand to unionize their battery plant - it cannot compete as a unionized entity - it isn't possible.
Also, SK an astute Global Manufacturing entity who knows how to be successful and competitive will not put up with this type on nonsense.

Yes, unions can end up hurting businesses and workers. However, in this case, the sole reason for the closure was the cancellation of the EV incentives by the Trump administration. It would have closed with or without the union, with the EV incentives gone.

Biden’s carrot approach, embodied in the Inflation Reduction Act with its EV incentives, was working. Trump’s stick approach of tariffs, wars, anti-immigration, and the elimination of incentives is not working.

Oh, and Koreans are not happy with stuff like this either:

To me it's not a union problem. Simply put, we're in a world market, and you have to make enough money to justify costs. That goes for both the employees as it does for the factory. For the employee, it's just a factor of how poor of a lifestyle their willing to tolerate. They might express this through voting for higher minimum wages or going through a union or just quitting and finding another job all on their own. Of course, if you don't have any labor laws or unions then factories can choose and pick until they basically get slave labor, unless the labor market dries up. But since this is a global market, it kind of has to start drying up world-wide.
